The following are summaries of written reports submitted last week by officers with the Texas County Sheriff’s Department:
Jan. 17
––A man called to report observing two trucks parked on Fox Run Road that appeared to be suspicious. An investigating officer was unable to locate the vehicles.
––A woman called to express concern about the condition of a horse on a Ridge Road property near Houston. An investigating officer determined that the horse had adequate food, water and shelter. The horse’s owner told the officer it was 36 years old.
––An officer reported that 3:15 a.m. Jan. 11 a representative of Texas County Memorial Hospital called and stated that a woman had come there and stated that her dog had bitten her. The hospital worker stated that the woman’s address was on Old Yukon Road at Raymondville and provided a phone number where she could be reached.
The officer stated he was unable to make contact with the bite victim, but on Jan. 17 spoke to a woman who answered the number given by the hospital, who said she had not been bitten and lived at Success. Investigation of the matter continues.
––An officer reported that on Jan. 10 a 56-year-old Licking man had come to the TCSD office to report that a 15-foot deer stand ladder had been stolen from his Ware Road residence. The man stated the ladder had been attached to a tree located about 15 feet from his garage.
Jan. 18
––An officer reported that on Dec. 21 he had investigated a burglary at a business on Sunshine Drive at Mountain Grove.
The officer stated that the owner reported that someone had broken into a shop building and swiped several power tools and car parts with a total value of $1,675.
There are no suspects, but surveillance video showed a dark colored long bed truck coming and going four times. Information was to be provided to the Cabool Police Department.
––An officer reported that on Jan. 11 he had responded to a report of an out-of-control man at an apartment building on Chick Johnson Street at Raymondville.
The officer stated that he made contact with the suspect, a 29-year-old Houston man, and determined he had been drinking heavily despite being on parole. The man was arrested and taken to the Texas County Jail. His parole officer was contacted and said a warrant would be issued.
Jan. 20
––A deputy responded to a report of a combative female at a U.S. 63 residence at Cabool.
A 59-year-old man who lives there told the investigating officer that his 22-year-old daughter had kicked his son during an argument. While speaking to the daughter, the officer observed a smoking device made of tin foil sitting on a table, and noticed that it had a strong odor of cannibus.
The woman was arrested and taken to the Texas County Jail and placed on a 12-hour hold pending a charge of possession of drug paraphernalia.
