Gladys B. Cook, 88, died Sunday, Jan. 6, 2013.
She was born Jan. 14, 1924, near Hazelton, daughter of Arthur and Lindy Sullins Ellis. She and Herbert F. Cook were married Aug. 10, 1940.
She and her husband, Herbert, build and lived in their home until 1980. She worked 50 years at the George O. White State Forest Nursery in Licking.
She enjoyed gardening, canning and growing flowers, trees, and other plants. She enjoyed bird watching, especially cardinals and hummingbirds.
She loved cooking large family meals and watching her family participate in sports and other activities.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Herbert; a son, Charles; and a brother, Ray Ellis.
Survivors include three sons, Herbert Ray, Bill and Roy; three daughters, Margaret Little Cheryl Shores and Mary Kimrey; 18 grandchildren; 31 great-grandchildren; and six great-great grandchildren.
Services are 10 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 10, at Fox Funeral Home with Pastor David Gidcomb officiating. Burial will be in Craddock Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the George O. White State Forest Nursery employee fund.
