Houston police handled several investigations during the last week.

The following are matters recently dealt with by Houston police:

Jan. 2

––Anna M. Martin, 50, of Bucyrus, was issued a citation for driving with a suspended license after a traffic stop at about 5:15 p.m. on Spruce Street.

Jan. 5

––Sean B. Murphy, 18, of 5220 Watson Road at Elk Creek, was issued a citation for failing to stop at a posted stop sign after an officer observed a green Chrysler sedan turn from Oak Hill Drive onto Walnut street without stopping.

Jan. 7

––Nicholas M. Jones, 21, of 18199 Highway B at Houston, was arrested for having an active municipal warrant for minor in possession of alcohol. An officer who was aware of the warrant made the arrest at Houston City Hall after making contact with Jones there.

Jones was taken to the Texas County Jail, where he posted $72.50 bond and was released.

––Michael W. Wehling, 29, of 1231 East Crest Dr. in Houston, was issued a citation for driving without a license after an officer noticed expired tags on a Ford Expedition and initiated a traffic stop on King Street.

After making contact with the driver – Wehling – the officer found that he didn’t have a license.

––Charles R. Mayes, 37, of 8164 Morton Road, Lot 20, at Houston, was arrested for having an active Texas County warrant for driving while intoxicated (persistent offender), driving while revoked, failure to yield to an emergency vehicle and speeding.

An officer who was aware of the warrant made the arrest in the Houston City Hall parking lot after observing Mayes sitting in the passenger seat of a vehicle that pulled in. Mayes was taken to the Texas County Jail, where he was unable to post $150,000 bond.

Jan. 8

––Jeffery A. Brooks, 29, of 8445 Mineral Drive in Houston, was arrested for having an active Texas County warrant for driving with a revoked license. An officer who was aware of the warrant made the arrest at a Houston retail location after making contact with Brooks there.

At the same store, the officer recognized a woman who was known to have an active Texas County warrant for unlawful use of drug paraphernalia. Christal N. Spencer, 27, of 8453 Mineral Drive in Houston, was also arrested.

Both were taken to the Texas County Jail and held without bond.

––Adrian D. Davis, 28, of 530 Florence St. in Houston, was arrested for having an active Texas County warrant for no valid driver’s license and failure to register a motor vehicle.

An officer who was aware of the warrant arrested Davis at his home. He was taken to the Texas County Jail where he was unable to post $291 bond.

Jan. 12

––Dalton L. Hall, 10, of 18705 Highway H at Elk Creek, was arrested for having active municipal warrants for careless and imprudent driving and speeding. An officer who was aware of the warrants made the arrest after making as traffic stop at about 1:25 a.m. at First Street and Ozark streets, and then recognizing Hall as a passenger in the vehicle.

Hall was taken to the Texas County Jail where he posted $500 bond and was released.
