Kenneth Stoops

Kenneth Leroy Stoops, 82, of 18836 Bear Claw Rd., Yukon, Mo., died on Wednesday, Jan. 9, 2013, in his home. He was born Dec. 21, 1930, in Grove City, Pa., a son of Louis & Ruth (Styers) Stoops. He married Faye Hahn Rees on May 11, 1986, in Bonita Springs, Fla. She survives.

Kenneth worked with heavy equipment and was a dragline operator. He also had worked in Cleveland at a steel mill for many years. Ken dearly loved his children. He was a NASCAR fan and was looking forward to Daytona 500 next month. He liked to go camping and enjoyed his dogs.

In addition to his wife, Faye, he is survived by his children, Glenn Stoops of Bristolville, Ohio, Jim Stoops and his wife, Cindy, of Fountain Inn, S.C., Gary Stoops and his wife, Sandy, of Middlefield, Ohio, Janet Novel and her husband, Joe, of North Bloomfield, Ohio, Pam Kren and her husband, Bill, of Thompson, Ohio, Rod Stoops and Mike Stoops, both of Middlefield, Ohio; a daughter-in-law, Dorcas Stoops of Middlefield, Ohio; a step-brother, Jim (Jan) Coulter of S.C.; and a sister, Kate (Wayne) Phipps of Harrisville, Pa.; three step-sons, Kenny Rees and his wife, Brenda, of Canton, Mo., Randy Rees and his wife, Cindy, of Payson and Jeff Rees and his wife, Susie, of Ewing, Mo.; a stepdaughter, Lori Davis (Ed Eaton) of LaGrange, Mo.; and many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, step-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Kenneth, Jr.; and a daughter-in-law, Susan Stoops.

Funeral services were 11 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 12, 2013, at the Duker & Haugh Funeral Home by Chaplain James Riley. Interment was in Quincy Memorial Park.
