A Licking man sustained minor injuries Tuesday afternoon in a crash east of his hometown, the Missouri State Highway Patrol said.
Tpr. Jeff Leathers said an eastbound 2003 Ford Mustang driven by Phillip E. Giller, 25, swerved to miss a deer on Highway 32, ran off the highway and struck a tree.
Leathers said Giller, who was wearing a seat belt, refused treatment at the crash scene about 15 miles west of Salem. Members of the Licking Fire Department were called.
The vehicle was totaled, Leathers said.
