A cleanup for several northwest Texas County communities is planned for Saturday, March 2.

“We need a lot of volunteers as there are miles of (U.S.) Forest Service and other rural roads in northwest Texas County, as well as dump sites we have found to be cleaned up,” said Peter Maki with Top of the Ozarks Resource, Conservation and Development. Plato, Roby, Success and Evening Shade are included.

Volunteers will also help elderly residents haul away trash and other dump items from their properties. A county deputy also will talk about safety to volunteers. Volunteers will be dispatched from the Roby Fire Department, the event command post, with gloves, bags and safety equipment. A community barbecue will follow.

Additional information will be released later.
