Three persons were injured late Monday afternoon in a crash south of Licking on U.S. 63 at Highway BB.

An Elk Creek couple was seriously injured late Monday afternoon in a crash with a Missouri State Highway Patrol officer.

The patrol said a northbound 2011 Ford Crown Victoria driven by Sgt. George Falterman, 53, pulled into the path of a southbound 2001 Volvo operated by William Senf, 69, of Elk Creek, at Highway BB and U.S. 63 south of Licking. Senf and a passenger, Sharon Senf, 69, also of Elk Creek, were flown to Cox South in Springfield from the scene.

Falterman was taken with minor injuries to Texas County Memorial Hospital.

The Raymondville and Licking fire departments and Texas County Rescue Squad were called to assist.

The patrol said both vehicles were totaled. Everyone was wearing a seat belt.

A patrol reconstruction team is on the scene this morning.
