Authorities are investigating a report of missing cattle in western Texas County.
An officer reported that on Jan. 21 he had investigated a report of 21 cattle stolen from Highway M property at Cabool.
The officer stated that a 58-year-old man who takes care of the cattle for his 83-year-old mother told him that his 39-year-old nephew had stolen the cattle and sold them at a West Plains livestock auction.
A warrant was to be issued for the arrest of the nephew, who was reportedly in the Jefferson City area working a bridge construction job. The Missouri State Highway Patrol was contacted regarding the nephew’s location, and a patrol representative said he would be picked up and brought back to Texas County when the warrant was issued.
