A traffic stop Saturday, July 25, resulted in charges for a Summersville man, the Missouri State Highway Patrol said.

A Huggins man was injured early Saturday in a Laclede County crash, said the Missouri State Highway Patrol.

Tpr. Jason Millsap said a southbound 1998 Chevrolet Lumina on Highway Z driven by Robert W. Vaughan, 47, struck a horse in the roadway, totaling the vehicle.

Vaughan had moderate injuries and was taken to Mercy Hospital in Lebanon. A passenger, Michael L. Hildebrand, 51, of Falcon, had serious injuries and was sent to the hospital at Lebanon, too.

Millsap said both were wearing seat belts following the 2 a.m. accident.
