An Eldon man was arrested on six felony charges late Sunday night in Texas County following an investigation by the Missouri State Highway Patrol.
Randall R. Shepherd, 21, is charged with felony stealing of a motor vehicle, felony stealing of a firearm, felony stealing of more than $500 but less than $25,000, felony stealing of animals (two counts) and felony knowingly burning or exploding a motor vehicle.
The patrol said Shepherd was arrested at 11:36 p.m. at a residence near Licking as the result of an investigation into a 2007 Chevrolet pickup taken from a residence in Licking on Dec 8, 2012.
Authorities said there was a rifle in the vehicle and two hunting dogs in a dog box in the back of the truck when it was swiped. The vehicle was burned and has been recovered. The dog box and firearm have also been found. The dogs are still missing.
He was taken to the Texas County Jail and held without bond.
