The following are matters dealt with last week by the sheriff’s department:
Feb. 6
––A deputy responded at about noon to a disturbance at a Stack Road property. The officer determined that the dispute was taking place between a landlord and a tenant and that no crime had been committed.
––A deputy responded at about 8:20 a.m. to a report of a dog running loose and chasing cars on Stow Road. The officer was unable to locate the animal.
––An officer was dispatched at about 2:50 p.m. to assist an ambulance crew with a man threatening suicide at a Highway 17 residence at Bucyrus. The officer spoke with the man, who stated he wanted to get help. The man was taken to a hospital in West Plains.
––An officer was dispatched to a location off of Highway 137 north of Willow Springs regarding a report of a male subject walking down the road carrying two suitcases. The officer made contact with a boy who stated he was moving out of his mother’s house and walking to Cabool.
Feb. 7
––An officer was dispatched just after midnight to a Highway 17 residence at Houston after a man reported that his dog had been shot. The man told the officer he had found his dog next to the road. The officer was unable to locate a bullet wound on the dog, and determined that it had likely been hit by a car.
––A woman called to report neglected horses at a Highway 17 property. Upon arrival, an investigating officer observed the horses eating hay, and saw a shed filled with square bales, and a 75-gallon tank full of water.
