Glendolla Bennett

Glendolla C. (Moise) Bennett, 89, was born May 13, 1923, in Clara, Mo., to Elbert E. and Gertrude (Castor) Crawford. She passed away Feb. 24, 2013, at Houston House with her family by her side.

Glendolla grew up and attended school in the Houston area. She worked for the International Shoe Company and H.D. Lee where she made many friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; a daughter, Eliane Sondra Colborn; a sister and two brothers, Linna Irene, Guy and Cyle.

Glendolla was united in marriage to George Moise in April 1941 and to this union four children were born, Eliane, Carollene, Marlene and Michael. She later married Doug Bennett.

Glendolla is survived by her children, Carollene Coats and husband, Ray, of West Plains, Mo., Marlene Branson and husband, Kenny, of Slidell, Texas, and Michael Moise and wife, Jan, of Hartville, Mo.; nine grandchildren, Blaine Holder, Bridgett (Holder) Baney, LaDawn (Branson) Fitzgearld, Karla (Branson) Stastny, Kritsa (Branson) Burger, Tom Coats, Lorette’ (Skouby) Smith, Tony Coats and Jason Moise; and numerous great- and great-great grandchildren.

She was a member of Houston First Baptist Church. Glendolla was an avid volunteer with the Texas County Memorial Hospital Ladies Auxiliary. She loved being a part of the Red Hatters, always ready to go and be a part of their fun times together.

Glendolla was a world traveler, visiting Germany, Italy, Austria, Puerto Rico and numerous other countries. She enjoyed telling her travel experiences with her family and friends.

Glendolla loved to crochet and spend time with her family, especially her grandchildren. She was a wonderful mother, grandmother, great grandmother and will be greatly missed by her family and friends.

Services were 10 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 27, 2013, at Evans Funeral Home with Delbert Gayer officiating. Pallbearers were Lester Smith, Scott Baney, Tony Coats, Craig Fitzgearld, Branson Burger and Bradley Burger. Honorary Pallbearers were Bobby Joe Stastny, Jason Moise, Morgan Moise and Tom Coats. Burial was in Union Cemetery under the direction of Evans Funeral Home.
