Houston police handled investigations during the last week.

The following are summaries of written reports submitted last week by officers with the Houston Police Department:

Feb. 12

––Colleen S. Palmer, 46, of 6506 Millstone Road in Houston, was issued a citation for stealing under $500 after being caught attempting to shoplift a bottle of vodka from the Houston Walmart, according to a report.

Feb. 19

––Blythe W. Brotherton, 18, of 302 Skyview Terrace in Houston, was issued four citations following a traffic stop at about 11:10 p.m. on U.S. 63.

An officer made the stop after observing a car traveling at a high rate of speed on First Street.

After making contact with the driver – Brotherton – the officer ended up issuing tickets for driving without a license, failure to register a motor vehicle, no insurance and speeding.

Feb. 20

––Teresa D. Hayes, 29, of 112 Red Bud in Houston, was arrested for having an active Texas County warrant for passing bad checks. An officer who was aware of the warrant made the arrest at Walmart after observing Hayes there.

Hayes was taken to the Texas County Jail where she was unable to post $5,000 bond.
