Kenneth “Bill” William Nack, 80, son of Charles and Myrdl (Moody) Nack, was born Aug. 20, 1932, in St. Louis, Mo. He passed away Feb. 17, 2013, at Mercy Hospital, Springfield, Mo.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Joan; a son, Dan, and two sisters, Louise and Charlotte.
Bill is survived by a son, Bill Nack, and his wife, Linda, of St. Charles, Mo.; seven grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; a brother, Charles “Bud” Nack of St. Louis, Mo.; a sister, Martha Kilburn, of Sullivan, Mo.; his faithful companion of 17 years, Nellie Gaither, of Bucyrus, Mo.; a nephew, Don Kern, of Bucyrus, Mo.; and many friends.
Bill grew up and attended school in St. Louis. He married Joan Marie Goss and to this union two sons were born, Dan and Bill.
He was a member of Northside Baptist Church and was baptized Aug. 7, 2008, by Wesley Wallace in the Piney River at Dogs Bluff.
Bill loved to gamble, play poker, go hunting and canoeing and spend time with his grandkids and great-grandkids. He also enjoyed running around and going places with Nellie. They had such a good time together. Bill took such good care of her.
Bill was a wonderful father, grandfather, great-grandfather, companion and friend. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him. Now he is enjoying heaven and greeting his loved ones that went on before him.
Services were 11 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 20, 2013, at Evans Funeral Home with Wesley Wallace officiating. Pallbearers were Dane Carver, Justin Ebert, Lee Kern, Paul Murray, Scott Murphy, Jake Knopfel and Jeff Joerling. Burial was in Ellis Prairie Cemetery under the direction of Evans Funeral Home.
