A Mountain Grove woman faces two charges following her arrest Saturday, Jan. 4, county authorities said.

A Houston man faces multiple drug and weapons charges after his wife requested medical assistance at their residence, authorities say.

In a written report submitted last week, a Texas County Sheriff’s Department officer stated that on Jan. 30 he had been dispatched to a Northview Lane trailer park at Houston regarding a 911 request to assist an ambulance crew with a 50-year-old woman desiring medical assistance.

While on the scene, the officer asked for and received consent to search the mobile home, and subsequently found marijuana and drug paraphernalia, along with a sawed-off shotgun hidden under the mattress of a bed.

The gun was later determined to not meet acceptable length standards.

As a result, the woman’s 55-year-old husband faces charges including possession, manufacture, repair or sale of certain prohibited weapons, unlawful for certain persons to possess firearms, possession of marijuana and unlawful use of drug paraphernalia.

The officer stated in his report that the man had a criminal record including five felony convictions, and that he had been arrested and jailed a week earlier on an unrelated charge. A probable cause statement seeking new charges was sent to the county prosecutor.

The same trailer home was at the center of another report submitted last week by a deputy.

At about 8:40 a.m. Feb. 6, two women came to the TCSD office and provided information about an assault that had allegedly taken place there the previous night, in which a 49-year-old man (address unknown) had physically attacked a 30-year-old Bucyrus woman.

Investigation of the matter continues.
