The Masonic Scholarship Fund of Missouri announced scholarships available to high school students.

The Masonic Scholarship Fund of Missouri Inc. is offering three different scholarships to Missouri high school students.

These are available to students graduating this year from a Missouri high school, and seek to attend an accredited institution of higher education.

The scholarships:

––Masonic Merit Scholarship, $1,000 per year available to students in any degree program.

––Ruth Lutes Bachmann Scholarship, $1,000 per year for students seeking a degree in the education or healthcare fields.

––Samuel Smith Stewart Masonic Scholarship, $8,000 per year available to students in any degree program.

Criteria for Masonic scholarships:

1. Grade point average of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale (or equivalent).

2. Position in class (with some thought to size of school).

3. ACT, SAT — or equivalent — test score.

4. Involvement in extra-curricular activities.

5. Financial need.

6. Current recipients, providing proper re-application, to be continued before new applicants are selected.

7. Graduate of a Missouri public high school.

8. Conditioned on enrollment as a full-time student (12 hours credit per semester or term) at an

accredited college or university in the United States.

9. Selection is made without regard to race, creed, sex or country of origin.

Two other items apply to students applying for the Stewart Trust Scholarships:

––They must be graduates of one of Missouri’s public or private high schools, or students of an accredited home school program.

––They may also be college graduates of a two-year program as well as applicants of certified technological and trade schools.
