Firefighters with the Raymondville and Licking volunteer fire departments responded at about 3 p.m. Wednesday to a house fire on Highway 137 in the Oscar area just north of Highway V near Raymondville.

The stone walled home was not being lived in when the blaze broke out, and was a total loss. The cause of the fire was not known, but it apparently started in the upstairs section of the two-story dwelling.

Officers with the Missouri State Highway Patrol and Texas County Sheriff’s Department also responded to the scene.
