Houston police made several investigations during the last week. 

The following are matters recently dealt with by Houston police:

Feb. 22

––Donna M. Hughes, 46, of 4816 Gravel Point Road at Mountain Grove, was arrested for having an active Douglas County warrant for passing bad checks. An officer made the arrest after initiating a traffic stop, and a computer check of Hughes’ driver’s license revealed the warrant.

Hughes was taken to the Texas County Jail where she posted $400 bond and was released.

Feb. 25

––Johnny L. Dixon, 28, of 112 Spruce St., Apt. 12, in Houston, was arrested for having an active Howell County warrant for child neglect. Dixon was taken to the Texas County Jail where he was unable to post $4,500 bond and was transported to Howell County.

––Donald L. Crane Jr., 32, of 402 Phelps St. in Houston, was arrested for having an active Texas County warrant for failure to appear on a safety belt charge. Crane was taken to the Texas County Jail where he posted $20 bond and was released.

On March 1, Crane was issued a citation for stealing under $500 after video surveillance from Emmett Kelly Park showed him swiping one metal trash can and two trash can lids valued at $280.

A City of Houston employee located the items at a local scrap metal business where records showed that Crane had sold them for $3, according to a report.

March 2

––Gary R. Garrett, 26, of 401 Oak Hill Drive in Houston, was issued a citation for failure to register a motor vehicle after an officer observed expired tags on a green Dodge Caravan Garrett was driving at about 5:20 p.m. on U.S. 63.

––David W. Cope, 24, of 109 South Elm St. in Raymondville, was issued a citation for driving with a suspended license after a traffic stop at about 11 p.m. on Grand Avenue.

March 5

––Jared P. Rebish, 26, of 2728 Ozark St. at Cabool, was issued citations for stealing under $500 and first-degree trespassing after being caught attempting to shoplift at Walmart. Rebish had been issued a trespass notice by Walmart after an incident at the Mountain Grove store in June 2011.

March 7

––Ronald G. Morgan, 35, of 11401 Reed Road at Licking, was arrested for having an active felony warrant for driving while revoked. An officer made the arrest at the state probation and parole office after being advised that Morgan was there.

Morgan was taken to the Texas County Jail, where he was unable to post $75,000 bond.

––Elizabeth R. Hunter, 44, of 14161 Highway C at Licking, was arrested for having two active Texas County warrants for passing bad checks. An officer made the arrest at the state probation and parole office after being advised that Hunter was there.

Hunter was taken to the Texas County Jail, where she was unable to post $10,000 bond.

March 9

––Jonathan D.S. Southworth, 26, of 1250 Ozark Street in Houston, was arrested for having an active Texas County warrant for failure to appear on a charge of operating a motor vehicle with window/windshield vision reduction material. Southworth was taken to the Texas County Jail, where he posted $95.50 bond and was released.
