A Licking woman faces a DWI-drugs charge following her arrest in Houston, authorities said.

After a traffic stop at about 7:45 p.m. March 11 on Highway 17, an officer with the Houston Police Department issued a citation for driving while intoxicated – drugs – to Michelle K. Houston, 44, of 203 Campbell St. in Licking.

The officer initiated the stop after observing a black Chevrolet Blazer traveling with no visible taillights. After making contact with the driver, Houston, the officer noticed signs of impairment and field sobriety tests were conducted. It was determined that Houston had taken several prescription medications. She was taken to the Texas County Jail and released to a relative.

On March 15, William T. Hebert, 27, of 8205 Northview Lane, Lot 31, in Houston, was issued a citation for improper vehicle registration and arrested for having an active parole violation warrant following a traffic stop at about 5 p.m. on Oak Hill Drive.

An officer made the stop after observing expired tags on the white Chevrolet Monte Carlo Hebert was driving, and a computer check revealed the warrant. Hebert was taken to the Texas County Jail and held without bond.
