A single-wide mobile home near Houston sustained extensive damage from a fire Tuesday morning.
Two trucks and several firefighters from the Houston Rural Fire Department responded to the blaze at about 9:15 a.m. at 8227 Fisher Drive just north of the Houston city limit.
Before the flames were snuffed, a bedroom and much of the structure’s ceiling was heavily damaged.
Houston Rural Fire Chief Don Gaston said the cause of the fire was not known, but a fire marshal was called to investigate. The home is a rental property owned by Rhonda Ramsey.
A woman who was inside the home when the fire broke out was injured and was transported by ambulance to Texas County Memorial Hospital. Firemen had been at the same residence twice before in the past several months.
