A Licking man faces charges after his motorcycle crashed Tuesday, March 26. He was seriously injured.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol said an intoxicated motorcyclist failed to negotiate a curve Tuesday afternoon and ran off Highway CC north of Licking and struck a mailbox.

Robert L. Lauer, 49, of Licking, was ejected from the 2006 Kawasaki Ninja and flown to Mercy Hospital in Springfield by medical helicopter with serious injuries, said Cpl. Scott Nelson of the patrol.

Lauer is charged with felony driving while revoked, felony DWI and having no insurance, according to a report.
