Meril Dean Terrill, 82, died Thursday, Feb. 28, 2013, at the Missouri Veterans Home in Cape Girardeau.

He was born March 10, 1930, in Hunter, son of Earnest and Ellen Terrill.

He was an Army veteran and served in the Korean War. He had lived in Valley Park since 1961.

He spent his early years near Summersville. He spent many years in local volunteer work.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife of 45 years, Betty; six brothers, Emil, Roy, Virgil, Robert, Eugene and Norman; and two infant sisters.

Survivors include six children, Pam Lay of Plano, Texas, Terri Trower, Della Moon and Todd of Valley Park, Meril Jr. of Pacific and Jeff of Eureka; eight grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and a sister, Virgie Hodge.

Graveside services with military honors were Monday, March 4, in Summersville City Cemetery under the direction of Bradford Funeral Home.
