Members of the South Central Missouri County Commissioners Association met Friday at the Texas County Justice Center.
The association consists of 17 counties, and its commissioners meet twice a year. With wintry weather preventing some from attending, Friday’s gathering included commissioners from about 10 counties.
“We talk about different things that are affecting county government, and problems that people have had and how they’ve solved them,” Texas County Associate Commissioner John Casey said. “It’s a good way for us to get together and share ideas and get to know each other a little better.”
Several of the commissioners on hand were new to their jobs after being elected last November. Also attending were District 33 State Sen. Mike Cunningham, and State Reps. Tony Dugger (District 141), Shawn Rhoads (District 154) and Lyle Rowland (District 155).
