Justin Brown, a former Missouri cross country state champion while attending Mountain Grove High School, won the Undivided Hearts 5K on Saturday for the second year in a row.

Brown ran the 3.1-mile course through Houston’s streets in 18 minutes, 43 seconds to take the overall top honors. Robyn Adams won the women’s race.

Stacy Fowler finished second in the men’s race and Riley Caveness was third. Holly Atterberry finished second on the women’s side, followed by Krista Elliott.

Male winners by age group were: Cavaness, 11-19; Brown, 20-29; Jason Arnold, 30-39, Fowler, 40-49; and Mark Rhoades, over-50. Female winners were: Amber Sillyman, 11-19; Atterberry, 20-29; Elliott, 30-39; Adams, 40-49; and Cheryl Thurman, over-50.

Prior to the 5K, children 12 and under competed in a kids’ race around two blocks. Tyson and Trinity Elliott were the respective boy and girl winners.

There was a block party throughout the day that included a bounce house, bake sale, food and silent auction. All proceeds benefited Undivided Hearts, which has hosted a weekly cross-denominational worship service each Saturday night in Houston since November 2011.
