An burglary reported Sunday by Wedgewood County Club near Cabool is under investigation by the Texas County Sheriff’s Department.
The representative told an investigating officer that when he came to work in the morning, he noticed damage to a door and discovered that a fire extinguisher had been sprayed into the soda cooler and refrigerator, causing damage to all the items inside. He also stated that $70 cash and six to eight cases of beer belonging to club members had been stolen from the recreation room.
The man told the officer that he had been having problems with kids sneaking into the swimming pool area at night and partying. He said that after one such party, he found a young man’s wallet in the bathroom, and stated he suspected the same person might be involved.
The officer photographed the scene and lifted a partial fingerprint off of the fire extinguisher.
