Tanner and Aaron Cantrell hit back-to-back home runs last Thursday to power the Houston Tigers to a 13-6 victory at Willow Springs.

HHS had a season high in hits (13) and runs en route to the team’s first South Central Association victory of the season.

Aaron Cantrell was 3-for-4 with three RBIs and two runs scored, and Tanner Cantrell had three hits and knocked in two runs. Devin Coulter doubled twice and knocked in four runs.

Eight different players had hits for the Tigers (3-2, 1-2 SCA). The top five players in the lineup all scored twice.

Coulter struck out seven and gave up three earned runs in six innings to improve to 2-0.

Ahead 3-0, the Tigers broke the game open with five runs in the third. The Cantrells homered in the inning, and Coulter doubled home a pair of runs.

On Monday, Salem scored two runs in the bottom of the seventh inning to edge HHS 3-2.

The Tigers took a 3-2 lead in the sixth on RBI singles from Trevor Merckling and Stetson Welch.

Aaron Cantrell struck out six and walked five in the loss. He gave up seven hits and two earned runs.
