Deputies with Texas County Sheriff's Department handled several investigations during the last week.

The following reports were generated last week by the Texas County Sheriff’s Department.

•An officer finished a April 9 report that on March 4 a 22-year-old Houston woman reported that 53 Hydrocodone pills had been stolen from her residence at a Northview Lane trailer park. The woman named six people who had been in her home that day, but stated she didn’t think any of them would have stolen from her.

•An officer reported on April 10 that on April 3 a Cabool woman had called and stated that a “beware of dog” sign had been stolen from her Pisgah Road residence.

The woman said she suspected a postal worker who had been bitten by the dog the previous week. An investigating officer who went to the woman’s home reported that upon arrival, a large retriever ran at him and attempted to bite him. The officer stated that just as he was about to kill the dog, the woman and a child ran up and stopped the animal.

The officer advised them to keep the dog penned up or on a leash.

•An officer reported that on April 4 a 60-year-old Cabool man called and stated that one of his U.S. 63 apartments had been broken into. He named a 35-yard-old man who was a former tenant as a suspect.
