Nathan Holder has been hired as assistant superintendent of the Festus School District.

A Houston native has received a two-year contract to become the assistant superintendent of the Festus School District.

Nathan Holder, superintendent of the Steelville School District since 2009, will assume the post. The district’s assistant superintendent at Festus is set to assume the top position following a retirement.

Holder was superintendent of Raymondville School from 2006-2009. Previously he was elementary principal at Plato and served as high school principal at Bourbon. He also has classroom teaching experience.

Holder has a bachelor’s degree in elementary education from Webster University, a master’s degree from William Woods University, a specialist in education degree from William Woods University and is doctoral candidate in educational leadership at Lindenwood University.

In its hiring announcement, the Festus School District cited Holder’s history of academic progress at Steelville and Raymondville.

He is the son of Roger and Peggy Holder of Houston.
