Two incidents in eastern Texas County have resulted in voluminous reports by county deputies. 

The following are summaries of reports generated last week by the Houston Police Department:

•Jorge Omar Flores-Lozano, 28, of 626 Plainview Drive in Houston, was issued a citation for third-degree assault after police said he involved in an early-morning incident March 30 at the Office Bar on Grand Avenue.

An officer was dispatched to the location at about 1:10 a.m. regarding a report of three men causing a disturbance. Upon arrival, the officer spoke with a 40-year-old Houston woman who stated that a man had thrown a beer bottle that struck her in the shoulder, and that the man had fled the scene with two other men.

The suspect was located a short time later near the intersection of Pine and First streets, and after further investigation, was ticketed.

•Levi A. Bittle, 31, of 713 Chestnut St. in Houston, was issued a citation March 30 for allowing an animal to run at large after a pit bull broke free from its chain and bit another dog that was being walked along the road by a 26-year-old Houston man.

Bittle reportedly had to choke his dog to get it release its hold on the other dog’s throat. The reporting officer stated that several reports have been dealt with in the past regarding the same dog attacking other dogs, and even one person.

•Susana E. Ernszt, 26, of 21897 Wuertley Road at Summersville, on March 30 was issued citations for driving while intoxicated and failure to drive on the right half of the roadway after a traffic stop at about 1:10 a.m. on Grand Avenue.

An officer made the stop after observing a black Ford F-150 traveling erratically. After making contact with the driver, Ernszt, the officer smelled alcohol and field sobriety tests were conducted. After being ticketed, Ernszt was released to a sober friend.

•Dennis C. Blackburn, 53, of 16702 Highway B in Houston, was issued citations April 5 for driving while intoxicated and failure to register a motor vehicle after a traffic stop at about 6:10 p.m. on Fourth Street.

An officer made the stop after observing expired tags on a green 1997 Chevrolet Lumina. After making contact with the driver, Blackburn, the officer smelled alcohol and field sobriety tests were conducted.

Blackburn was taken to the Texas County Jail for a mandatory six-hour hold period.
