The following are matters recently dealt with by Houston police:
––Two women were issued citations for marijuana when officers went to their King Street residence as part of an investigation of a reported burglary.
When officers arrived at the location, they smelled a strong odor of marijuana and observed a haze of smoke in the air. The two female roommates gave officers verbal consent to search the home, and marijuana was found in a kitchen cabinet.
As a result, Jasmine L. Sikes, 18, and Chastity N. Sikes, 18, both of 422 King St. in Houston, were issued citations for possession of 35 grams of marijuana or less. Marijuana and smoking devices seized as evidence were sent to an MSHP crime lab.
––Dustin Odom, 27, of 115 N. King St. in Houston, was arrested for having an active Texas County warrant for careless and imprudent driving. An officer made the arrest at the Division of Family Services office.
Odom was taken to the Texas County Jail and held without bond.
––Nicholas M. Jones, 21, of 18100 Highway B in Houston, was arrested for having an active Texas County warrant for resisting arrest, unlawful use of drug paraphernalia and minor in possession of alcohol. An officer, who was aware of the warrant, made the arrest at Houston City Hall after making contact with Jones there.
Jones was taken to the Texas County Jail and held without bond.
––Nathan A. Ball, 18, of 8971 Highway 17 at Bucyrus, was arrested for having an active Crawford County warrant for possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia.
An officer made the arrest after being dispatched to Texas County Memorial Hospital regarding a report of an unruly patient who had assaulted ambulance crew members. The officer made contact with the suspect – Ball – and a computer check revealed the warrant
Ball was taken to the Texas County Jail where he posted $750 bond and was released.
––Jenneweva L. Walker, 34, of 307 Davis St. in Houston, was issued a citation for possession of less than 35 grams of marijuana.
Walker was cited after officers investigating another matter at her residence found the drugs after receiving written consent to search from she and a male resident. During the search, a bag containing marijuana was found in a laundry bag along with several items of clothing.
––Edith A. Wen, 31, of 506 Phelps St. in Houston, was issued a citation for making a false report.
Wen was cited after officers investigated her claim that she had been robbed and assaulted by a Houston man and woman. She stated that as she was walking on Chestnut Street with another woman, the pair confronted her and took her wallet and prescription medication. She also claimed to have been punched in the face by the woman.
Wen later admitted that the two had not stolen her wallet or medication and had not assaulted her, and that the items had actually been stolen the previous night when she was at a residence on Phelps Street.
––Adam B. Smith, 22, of 108 Cedar St. in Houston, was issued citations for driving without a valid driver’s license and improper vehicle registration after a traffic stop at about 11:15 p.m. on Highway 63.
