Jessie Dablemont

Jessie Muriel “McNew” Dablemont, 82, died Sunday, April 7, 2013, at her home in Bolivar.

She was born June 22, 1930, in Simmons, daughter of Bert Lee McNew and Hilda Frances Luck McNew. She and Farrel Arthur Dablemont were married Aug. 4, 1946, in Houston.

She attended school in Houston. She owned and operated a daycare facility in Houston. She was a member of Mount Olive Baptist Church in Bolivar. She was a pianist and singer at many churches in Texas County throughout her lifetime as well as a Sunday school teacher.

She loved gardening, sewing and fishing. Her biggest joy was her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 65 years, Farrel; her parents; a sister, Mildred Daniel; and four brothers, Ralph, Roy, Frank and Ervin McNew.

Survivors include a son Larry Dablemont of Bolivar; two daughters, Muriel Wood of Lee’s Summit and Diana Chadwick of West Plains; eight grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and a host of other family members.

Services were Thursday, April 11, at First Free Will Baptist Church. Burial was in Ozark Baptist Cemetery during the direction of Pitts Chapel of Bolivar.
