Poll workers reported about 700 had cast ballots by about 3 p.m. at the Houston polling location at the storm shelter.
Polls close at 7 p.m.
A Houston school district bond issue and selection of representatives to the Piney Township and the Texas County Health Department boards are the only matters on the ballot.
The bond issue requires a four-sevenths majority – 57.14 percent – for passage.
