A teenager swiped a vehicle from Plato Schools that was recovered in Laclede County.
A 47-year-old Falcon man stated that his car had been stolen March 29 while it was parked at the school.
An investigating officer received information about the direction the car traveled when it left, as well as a description: a white 1997 Pontiac Grand Prix, valued at $5,000. The officer drove about five miles into Laclede County and observed the vehicle parked at a church on Highway 32.
The officer made contact with a 15-year-old Lynchburg boy who was near the car, and the boy told the officer he had taken the vehicle because he was thirsty and needed to get something to drink.
The car’s owner arrived at the scene, and spoke with the boy. The owner indicated he didn’t wish to pursue charges.
