Deputies with Texas County Sheriff's Department handled several investigations during the last week.

The following reports were generated last week by the Texas County Sheriff’s Department.

•A man reported May 9 that a logging crew had parked a truck on his Dallas Lane property at Cabool, and that crew members had displayed a bad attitude toward his wife when she asked them to move the vehicle. An investigating officer stated that by the time he arrived, the truck had been moved and was parked on the property being logged.

•Franklin J. Stark, 48, of Mountain View, was issued a citation for third-degree assault at about 2:30 a.m. May 5 after allegedly slapping a 53-year-old woman in the face several times at her Country Aire Lane mobile home in Cabool.

•A man reported on April 20 that full tanks of gasoline had twice been stolen from a vehicle parked at his Morton Road residence at Houston.

•An officer on May 4 investigated a report of a peace disturbance at a Northview Lane trailer park in Houston. A man living there told the officer that he and his girlfriend had just broken up and had been yelling at each other, but that she had left and would not be returning.

•A deputy investigated a report submitted by a postal worker on April 16 of starving horses at a Highway U property at Cabool. The officer was unable to locate any.

•An officer was dispatched at about 11:20 p.m. May 4 to the parking lot of a church at U.S. 63 and Highway E after a man reported that 50 men were there threatening to beat him up. The investigating officer stated that when he arrived, nobody was there but the man who had called in the complaint. The officer also stated that the man has been known to make similar reports in the past, and it was likely unfounded.
