Houston police officers handled several investigations during the last week. 

The following reports were generated last week by the Houston Police Department.

•Jennifer L. Scott, 36, of 16010 Durham Road in Houston, was issued a citation for failure to yield right of way after a two-car accident at about 7:45 a.m. April 26.

An investigating officer determined that the 1992 Buick Century Scott was driving had pulled from a center turn lane on South Sam Houston Blvd. in front of Casey’s General Store and collided with a 2011 Dodge Caravan being driven by Steven J. Sanborn of Houston that was traveling in the southbound lane of the highway.

•Joshua A. Jennings, 21, of 777 W. Highway 17, Apt. 1, in Houston, was arrested at about 8 a.m. May 1 for having an active City of Houston warrant for failure to obey. Jennings was arrested after an officer who was aware of the warrant recognized him as a passenger in a car traveling through the intersection of King Street and Ozark Avenue.

After a traffic stop, contact was made with Jennings and he was taken to the Texas County Jail, where he was unable to post $792.50 bond.

•Mark A. Wiggs, 32, of 134 E. South Oak Crest St. in Houston, was issued a citation for failure to yield right of way after a two-car accident April 27 at about 12:30 p.m. on U.S. 63 near Walmart.

An investigating officer cited Wiggs after determining that 2003 Dodge pickup he was driving had pulled out of the Walmart parking lot and struck the rear end of a 2006 Hyundai Tuscon being driven by Robert E. Derrick, of Raymondville, that was in the center turn lane of the highway.

•Tyler D. Rowland, 17, of 318 Cherry St. in Houston, was issued a citation on April 29 for allowing an animal to run at large after a dog he reportedly owns tried to fight with a dog tied up on a leash outside a Dewey Street residence.

•Laurellyn M. Pierrard, 37, of 8030 Indiana Road in Houston, was issued citations for driving while intoxicated and speeding after a traffic stop at about 11:50 p.m. on Oak Hill Drive.

An officer made the stop after observing a silver Mitsubishi Eclipse moving erratically on Grand Avenue and Walnut Street, and then clocking it at an excessive speed on Oak Hill Drive. After making contact with the driver – Pierrard – the officer smelled alcohol and field sobriety tests were conducted. She was taken to the Texas County Jail and later released.
