Houston police are investigating an accident involving a school bus.

No injuries are reported Friday morning when a vehicle collided with a bus full of children en route to Houston Schools.

Superintendent Scott Dill described the incident as a “minor fender-bender.” He said a turn signal light was broken on the bus, which is No. 17 at the district.

According to Dill, the bus was making a right-hand turn from Highway 17 to Bryan Street when a vehicle apparently pulled out in front of the bus. Both vehicles moved to a nearby parking lot to wait for authorities.

Dill said another bus was sent to the location to transport the children to the school buildings. The bus driver and Houston police officers evaluated children at the scene. At this point, Dill said no injuries have been reported.

Dill said school officials are in the process of contacting parents and evaluating all the children on-board. Dill stressed the accident was “low speed.”
