Heavy storms ripped through Texas County last night, prompting warnings, high water and opening of storm shelters.
At least one road was closed after a tree fell at Bell Road and Highway 17 in northern Texas County, authorities said.
Storm shelters at Houston and Licking were opened.
Rainfall amounts varied in the county. A gauge west of Houston showed nearly 4 inches this morning.
The National Weather Service says more heavy rain and storms are expected later Friday and during the evening. Flooding will be a concern.
