Dutch oven cooking enthusiasts will gather Sunday, June 16, at Emmett Kelly Park in Houston for an event featuring cooking demonstrations and other activities.
The free Father’s Day event will take place from 2 -6 p.m. in the park’s north pavilion, and several local Dutch oven experts will be on hand, along with others from the Springfield area and other Ozarks locations.
Yukon resident Jim Kidwell said a group gets together once a month for similar events, and everyone is welcome to join the “Dutch oveners.”
“We just do this for fun,” Kidwell said. “We’ll make some mistakes, and we can burn up a pot in a hurry.”
