Bobby D. Cross

A Hartshorn man was arrested June 21 on a methamphamine charge after a traffic stop by a Summersville police officer.

According to Summersville Police Chief Josh Ashlock, the officer stopped the vehicle for a traffic violation and observed the driver displaying nervous, suspicious behavior. The officer called for assistance from the Mountain View Police K-9 unit, and the dog – Abby – hit on something concealed in the vehicle.

Ashlock said several bags of methamphetamine were then found in the vehicle, along with a device commonly used to smoke it. Following the discovery, Bobby D. Cross, 36, of 22960 Jordan Drive in Hartshorn, was arrested and later charged with a felony controlled substance charge.

Cross is being held at the Texas County Jail on $400,000 bond.
