The Houston Imagination Library — which provides a book monthly to local children ages one month to five years — is seeking financial help from area residents.
In cooperation with Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library and the Houston Schools’ Parents as Teachers program, the local group has provided books for children in the school district since 2009. They arrive in the mail to households.
There are 98 children enrolled in the program.
The local committee is comprised of Karen Parker, chairwoman; Becky Eidson, secretary; Alice Wells, treasurer; Wilda McNiell and Shannon Nunnery, data clerk.
To assist, send a check to Imagination Library, c/o Community Betterment, P.O. Box 222, Houston, Mo. 65483. The cost is $25 per child. Donations are tax deductible.
