Nick Adams, 94, died Saturday, June 15, 2013, following a short illness.

He was born Sept. 5, 1918, in San Diego, Calif., son of Adam Nick and Bertha Silva Adams.

He was an independent truck driver most of his life. He served in the Army during WWII and was in several battles and campaigns, including Normandy, northern France, Ardennes, Central Europe and Rhineland. He was honorably discharged Oct. 26, 1945.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Katherine Adams, in 2000; his parents; and two brothers.

Survivors include a brother, Gus Adams; three sisters, Mari Medley, Evangaline Funk and Helen Porter; and several other family members and friends.

Graveside services were Tuesday, June 18, in Hickory Ridge Cemetery with Pastor David Barbee officiating. Services were under the direction of Evans Funeral Home.
