Two young children were injured Sunday afternoon in a crash near Simmons on U.S. 63, the Missouri State Highway Patrol said.

Tpr. P.R. Wells said a northbound 2009 Toyota Camery driven by Carmen E. Blaise, 33, of Jefferson City, hydroplaned on wet pavement, travelled off the right side of the roadway and struck several trees.

Two passengers, Beau K. Blaise, 7; and Gabriel H. Blaise, 6, both of Jefferson City, were taken by ambulance to Texas County Memorial Hospital in Houston.

Everyone was wearing a safety device, Wells reported. The vehicle had extensive damage.
