As southbound vehicles pass by the scene, logs that fell from the back section of a logging truck and trailer rig lie on alongside U.S. 63 at Hog Creek Road after a single-vehicle accident early Thursday afternoon. The front half of the rig can be seen in the background parked at the old Haney's Body Shop building.

A truck-and-trailer rig lost control and crashed early Thursday afternoon on U.S. 63 at Hog Creek Road.

The back half of the rig (owned by Rawlings Logging of Seymour) overturned and came to rest in the northbound lane of the highway, while all but one of the logs it was carrying rolled down the embankment.

Missouri Department of Transportation personnel who had been working south of the crash site were the first to arrive on the scene, and directed traffic before Missouri State Highway Patrol and other authorities arrived.

The cause of the crash is not yet known. The driver parked the front half a short way up the highway at the old Haney’s Body Shop building.
