Robert Earl Mainer, 60, died Saturday, May 25, 2013, at his home in Wappapello.
He was born April 6, 1953, in Virginia, son of Earl Johnson and Margie Ruth (Blackwell) Mainer.
He graduated from Houston High School in 1971. He joined the Air Force on May 28, 1971, and served until Sept. 29, 1977.
He moved to Kansas City and was a mechanic.
He enjoyed painting, fishing, hunting, playing pool, rebuilding and driving fast cars, teaching the word of God and spending time with his family.
He accepted Christ and was baptized in the mid 1990s. He later became a member of Ozark Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Michael Lynn Wood; and a granddaughter.
Survivors include a son, Jason R. Roberts of Texas; a daughter, Sarah E. Mainer Baugh of Missouri; four brothers, Keith Mainer, Joe Mainer and Larry Mainer of Houston and Tom Mainer of Plato; a sister, Earlene Mainer Stoops of Houston; four granddaughters; many nieces; and a nephew.
Memorial services with full military honors are 11 a.m. Saturday, July 13, at Ozark Baptist Church with Pastor Allen Lorton officiating.
Donations may be made to the Robert Mainer Memorial Fund in care of Evans Funeral Home.
