A Houston man and woman face multiple drug charges resulting from a Texas County Sheriff’s Department investigation of a case from June 5.
County authorities said Jeffery A. Brooks, 29, and Crystal N. Spencer, 27, both of 8453 Mineral Drive in Houston, were each charged July 10 with manufacturing or attempting to manufacture a controlled substance, methamphetamine. Brooks was also charged with felony resisting arrest and misdemeanor unlawful possession of a weapon. Spencer was also charged with hindering the prosecution of a felony, which is itself a felony.
According to the sheriff’s department, Brooks was arrested and held early this month at the Texas County Jail, and then transferred to the state department of corrections system. Meanwhile, Spencer was still at large early this week, but warrants for her arrest have been issued and law officers are on the lookout for her.
Brooks’ bond was set at $500,000, while Spencer’s was set at $350,000.
