One person was injured Friday night in a crash at U.S. 63 and Highway B, the site of frequent accidents.

Houston police investigated a two-vehicle accident Friday night at U.S. 63 and Highway B in which a Licking man was injured and ticketed.

Houston Police Chief Jim McNiell said an investigating officer reported that at 7:45 p.m., a 1989 Chevrolet Cavalier driven by Christopher J. Wilder, 20, of Licking, attempted a left turn from Highway B onto U.S. 63 and pulled into the path of 1995 Chevrolet Silverado pickup begin driven northbound by Lawrence Campbell, 39, of Houston.

Wilder was injured in the crash and was transported by ambulance to Texas County Memorial Hospital. He was also cited for failure to yield right-of-way.

Both vehicles were towed.

“It’s on of those intersections where you have to look multiple times before you pull out,” McNiell said. “It’s a reduced speed intersection, and people just need to look and be aware.”

Numerous accidents have occurred at the intersection over the year.
