The Emergency Conservation Program provides cost share to help producers remove debris and build fences destroyed by the flood, the Texas and Dent County office of Farm Services Agency said Friday.
The program is strictly limited to agricultural land and does not cover losses to any insurable items, such as buildings or machinery. Producers need to contact the office as soon as possible to maintain eligibility for all cost and should document damage with pictures if they have to make emergency repairs to contain livestock, etc.
A producer must have $1,000 of qualifying cost to qualify for assistance. It will also be limited to the amount necessary to return the land to agricultural production. This program has a 30- day sign up period, which will end Sept. 30.
