Archie Neel Anderson Jr., 81, died Thursday, Sept. 5, 2013, following a lengthy battle with leukemia.

He was born Jan. 9, 1932, in Wichita, Kan., son of A.N. Anderson Sr. and Mary E. Smith Anderson.

He served in both the Army and Air Force for 21 years. He then worked 19 years for South Western Bell Telephone Company.

He was an active member of the Ozarks Mountain Amateur Radio Club and the 7290 Traffic Net, where he received several honors and awards for his performances and participation.

Survivors include his wife, Brigitte Anderson; three children, Leslie Anderson-Longoria, Dean Anderson and Dirk Anderson; a sister, Laura Driesel; five grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and many other family members.

Graveside services were Monday, Sept. 9, in Missouri Veterans Cemetery with Chaplain Kevin Hostettler officiating. Arrangements were under direction of Fox Funeral Home.
