TIGER TIDBITS: Senior running back Austin Foster (ankle) returned Friday after missing a week and carried the ball three times before leaving the game. He is considered doubtful to dress against Cabool. …Tight end Austin Schock injured his ankle following a 34-yard reception against Cuba and will not dress this week. …Whitley Welch separated his shoulder last week in practice and will miss 4-6 weeks. …HHS coach Billy O’Neil praised two young players who played their first-ever varsity minutes for injured starters. Nathan Poynter led the offense in Week 2 against St. James when Devin Coulter was injured. On Friday, Kyle Wilson took over at tight end when Austin Schock went down. “They stepped in and performed in a time of need,” O’Neil said.
ABOUT CABOOL: The Bulldogs are 0-3 in 2013 with losses to Ash Grove (52-25), Strafford (52-12) and Willow Springs (31-12). …Quarterback Tanner Barnes threw for a school record 1,178 yards as a freshman. …Barnes has a pair of big targets. Tight end Gavin Green, an all-state selection last season, is 6-foot-4 and wide receiver Taylor Bay is 6-foot-6. …Cabool has lost 15 straight games.
