ABOUT CUBA: The Wildcats are winless following a 49-6 loss Friday to Hermann. Cuba lost 49-22 to St. James in Week 1. …The Wildcats have just 23 players on their roster. Only one is a senior. …HHS coach Billy O’Neil said Cuba has modified its double wing offense to include elements of the pistol in shotgun formation.
HHS INJURIES: Senior quarterback Devin Coulter, who left in the third quarter against St. James, was diagnosed with a bruised bone in his foot and strained Achilles. He is questionable for Friday’s game. …Running back Austin Foster (ankle) missed the St. James game and is doubtful for Cuba. …Dalton Hale, who dislocated his finger Friday night, will play against St. James. O’Neil said Hale may be limited to defense because three fingers will be taped together.
TIGER TIDBITS: HHS coach Billy O’Neil said senior lineman Gabe Pruett will be suspended Friday night at Cuba. Tight end Kolby Walker will change jersey numbers from 40 to 78 and fill Pruett’s void on the line. Austin Schock will start at tight end for Walker. …O’Neil praised defensive linemen Andy Edwards (freshman) and Matt Wheeler (sophomore) for their play against St. James. Both were inserted into the lineup to rest players who previously played both ways. “We really shut their running game down except for the quarterback scrambling out of the pocket,” O’Neil said. “They did exactly what they were told to do.”
